This sushi has pretty much become the test for me on the quality of a Japanese restaurant: the prawn needs to be warm and crisp, the rice slightly sweet and holding together, the avocado bright green without any brown spots. First was the Jumbo Dragon Roll, a deep-fried king prawn wrapped in rice and topped with avocado. In fact, I need not have worried about being hungry for long: even before we had finished off the edamame, our food arrived. In the end, TH and I ordered the Jumbo Dragon Roll (RM35), a platter of prawn and vegetable tempura (RM39), mushroom udon (RM28) and Salmon Miso Kami Nabe (RM39). The menu is huge and the colourful illustrations were helpful. My first order was a bowl of Edamame (RM9), I had to keep the hunger pangs at bay as I waited for the rest of my meal to arrive. It was good to see a familiar face from the days when Kampachi was the only place for tempura. They seem to have memorised the menu and are quite happy to make suggestions. ![]() There were a few families and some corporate entertaining going on - pretty much what one would expect in a private club. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. ![]() Mid-week, it was quiet with only a few tables occupied. The interiors are a tad dark, the one highlight being the tank full of bright red goldfish.
